Delta Frio Participates in Report on National Television Network

The Rio Grande do Sul based company, which manufactures evaporators and finned condensers for commercial and industrial refrigeration, was showcased on the Brazilian television network Jornal do Globo this week. The company from São Sebastião do Caí is a model of productive industry in Brazil, based on the LEAN manufacturing project coordinated by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI).

CNI worked on the project in 18 companies spread throughout Brazil, and in some the results we so good they became national news. From the outset, Delta Frio has embraced the cause due to innovative thinking that guides all of the company\'s actions.

The project was implemented in Delta Frio\'s fin stamping and final assembly sectors. Among the improvements made to the production line are a reduction in stamping set up times and the implementation of an assembly line for a specific series of products.

Based on this proposal, productivity of the assembly line increased around 30% and the press set up time was reduced by more than 50%. Results were so positive that the company intends to replicate the LEAN manufacturing concepts in other sectors of the company. In fact, a training and implementation schedule has already been drawn up aimed at incorporating the LEAN culture throughout the organization.
